Heard at Today's Meeting

President Tony called the meeting to order at 7:30.  Ron led us in prayer, Tony led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and Sam led us in singing "God Bless America."

 

Happy $: Jack was happy to watch his grandchildren, Bill was happy for Chris, Dick S. was happy (He commented on something he heard that one out of four people are mentally unbalanced.),

Dick J. was happy to find a trip to Rome for his 35th Anniversary, Ron was happy for a free trip to San Antonio (via frequent flyer miles, etc.) and Pete B was happy

 

Educator: Angelo was not in attendance

 

Announcements:

 

Warren G. Thompson Nominee submission was extended another week

 

Essays on the 4 Way Test Contest are starting to come in

 

Perfect attendance pins were handed out

 

Last quarterly due payment is due April 1.  (Short list of folks are in arrears and Brion will personally contact those individuals.)  

 

Pete A. along with Ginger from Elder Homes surveyed severval site for wheelchair ramps in Petersburg for Workcamp.

 

The club is providing lunches to 2 crews during the second week of Workcamp.

 

The club will have a booth at Chesterfest on Sept 26

 

A club happy hour is planned for April 24 (More details from Larry to follow)

 

This Week's Program:  Club Business Meeting

 

McQuire Hospital Dinner on March 27:

   -  Club members are asked to donate $15 and provide a dessert or two to support the effort

   -  Sibley's BBQ is preparing the food

   -  Arrive for setup o/a 3:30 pm

   -  Serving time is between 4:00 and 6:00 pm

 

Fool for the Arts on April 18:

  -  Setup the night prior.

  -  Operational time 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

  -  Venue has been expanded to celebrate Earth Day

 

HOG on May 13: more to come

 

Golf Tournament on June 8:  The cause may change (Wounded Warrior operation moving to Fort Eustis)

Birthdays and Anniversaries for the Month:  Tricia's birthday on 4th and June's on the 28th

 

Raffle: Ron won the small pot worth $32.00 and drew Eight of Hearts . The large pot is worth $300 and something.  

 

 

As Always, we close the meeting with the 4-way test....Of the things we think, say, and do...
