Heard at Today's Meeting

Pres. Tony called the meeting to order at 7:30. Sam led us in prayer, Tony led us in the Pledge of Allegiance,  and we sang, "God Bless America"

 

Happy $: Lot of folks were happy. (To numerous to name them all)  Some highlights:  Tom was happy for all the support the club provided him after his stroke (a year ago today).  A new prospective member (Tara Nelson) was happy.  Her business is sponsoring a blood drive either March 25 or 31.  (Come on Angelo donating blood doesn't hurt, it is only a little pinch)

 

Educator:   Angelo informed the club a test is coming on the Object of Rotary. 

 

Announcements:

 

R.L. Burton president of the TDHS Interact Club provided an update from RYLA conference.

 

Don Doerr (South Richmond) announce their Silent Auction on February 28

February 28 South Richmond is holding their big fundraiser at the Cultural Center of India

This Week's Program:  Ron Laux introduced the speaker Ron Laux.  Ron provided a very informative brief on the impact to the community from the Base Realignment and Closure (2005) (BRAC)

Next week our speaker host will be Chris Sovine and the greeter will be Bill Humprheys.   Be sure to check the website calendar for future events, and the Member area for future speaker and greeter assignments

Visiting Rotarians and Guests: 

 

Guests:  Tara Nelson, Scott Loshkreff, John Erbach and Peg Moncure (The Moncure's are celebrating the 14th anniversary and Henry treated Peg to breakfast and much much more for the rest of the day.)  In addition the TDHS Interact Club (R. L. Burton, Felicia Fields, Natasha Patel, Sharai Morales, Chantal Francis and Tiara Cypress) was in attendance

 

Visiting Rotarians:  Don Doerr and Jim Kalanges fro South Richmond

 

Birthdays and Anniversaries:

 

Leanne won the small pot worth $16 and selected the Jack of Clubs...The big pot continues is up to $281!

  

As Always, we close the meeting with the 4-way test....Of the things we think, say, and do...
