Heard at Today's Meeting

Pres. Elect Tony called the meeting to order at about 7:30 at our former venue Shoney's. Many of us were late and although I was fifteen minutes late I wasn't last. The change of venue may have contributed to some tardiness. Pres. Bill was on vacation so Tony got some practice on running the meeting. The death of Rose's son wore heavily on all of us and although she will reopen today or tomorrow the need of the club to do something to help was discussed. A purchase of a memorial video for the family and $500 was approved.

Happy $

Ron was happy that Boo was chosen to be the team leader for the GSE team to The Phillipines.

Warren Elmore (guest) gave a happy $ for upcoming anniversary next month.

Chuck happy that MMFF sponsors are stepping up.

Darryl was happy that Positive Vibe gave a gift certificate for the Golf Tournament.

Sam was happy because he was in the hospital and woke up.

Announcements

Rich announced the dictionaries are in and distribution will begin Sept. 18. A schedule of assignments was distributed.

Ron said he has updated the speaker list. (posted on the website)

Wes will coordinate the event at JTCC - Classis Car cruise-in & Drive-in Movie Night on Sept 15. He needs some volunteers.

Dick still needs auction items - goal is $10M worth - for Golf Tourney 10/24

Warren is accepting sponsor money and ticket money for MMFF. Checks should be made out to MMFF NOT Chester Rotary.

Boo Elmore introduced our speaker, Aimee Waters from Goodwill of Central VA. Aimee talked about many of the projects that Goodwill does including their stores and empluyement centers where they train people to find good jobs.More information is available at www.goodwill.org.
