Heard at Today's Meeting

In the absence of Pres. Warren and PE Bill, Treas. Tony presided at today’s meeting, calling us to order at 7:25AM. SOA Angelo did not levy late fines to those who were not yet present. We had 7 guests in attendance today – almost as many guests as members. It has been a few weeks since I published a newsletter, and I apologize if anybody noticed.

Dave presented, on behalf of the club, an award to Megan Madison for her summer trip to Morroco to study Arabic. After she finishes college at Converse U in South Carolina, Megan hopes to be involved with world peace efforts where she will use her new language skills.

Happy $

Sam, happy to be involved with Boy Scout troop 819 and all they do.

Mad Dog was happy that his sister, Megan came with him today

Ron was happy to see all the guests

Chuck was happy that Hog went well

Dave was happy to survive his 47th birthday last month (again)

AG Carol Woodward was happy that her term as AG was coming to an end

Announcements

Chuck gave a recap of last night’s BOD meeting which included a lengthy discussion on the HOG and what we could do better – to be continued, but most comments centered around being better organized next year. The event gets bigger each year and how do we deal with this big event and make improvements and keep people coming back.

Dave reported on the recently completed Wheel Chair Ramp installation which was bigger than usual – a 65 foot ramp with three platforms. Club members built components on Friday and installed on Saturday and Sunday under the leadership of Pete A.

Educator Ernie gave a talk on Service Above Self

This Week's Program

Ron introduced our guest speaker, Ed Mattson, member  of Mishawaka Rotary and  a spokesman and champion of Rotary International programs world wide. He has addressed over 2500 Rotary Clubs in 41 states and 5 foreign countries. A very dynamic speaker and crusader on Rotary’s behalf. Mr. Mattson is an Ambassador-at-Large for Hands Across the Sea, a resource network for international projects.

Upcoming Programs

Next week our speaker host will be  Brion Seward . Be sure to check the website calendar for future speaker hosts. Also next week, Jeff Peters will be inducted as a new member

Birthdays and Anniversaries

As Always, we close the meeting with the 4-way test....Of the things we think, say, and do...

Is it the  TRUTH...

Is it  FAIR TO ALL CONCERNED...

Will it   BUILD GOOD WILL AND BETTER FRIENDSHIP....

Will it be  BENEFICIAL TO ALL CONCERNED....
