Robin also donated a valentine gift basket which was raffled off and brought in $75 for Rotary charities. Robin, in addition to the gift shop, operates Flamingo Friends, a surprise gift service. www.flamingofriends.com

Valentine Happy $ from Pete for a gift for the ABC store, and Pete who brought his valentines with him. Larry happy for the Queen of Caffienne.

Darryll happy that he completed therapy - the warm Winter made striper fishing impossible.

This Week's Program

Sam M introduced Rick Gray of the Village News. Rick gave a very interesting presentation on his views of education and life in the 21st century. Rick is a proponent of alternative secondary schools focusing on teaching our teen agers to help them find their way in life before they go to college. Many young people know early on the path they want to persue in life. (nursing, acting, fire fighting, and law enforcement were a few vocations mentioned.) Starting this preparation earlier in life may stir interest in students who may otherwise be lost in the large school setting of today's society

Rick's talk was very interesting and may cause us to look a little different way to approach education. He has talked to all members of the school board as well. Watch Rick's column in the Village news for further developments on this and other controversal local/state/national issues

Today's pot was over $1000 if the winner drew the Q Hearts from the four remaining cards. Scott was not the lucky winner, but walked away with $86 anyway. Next week chances are 1 in 3.

As Always, we close the meeting with the 4-way test....Of the things we think, say, and do...

Is it the  TRUTH...

Is it  FAIR TO ALL CONCERNED...

Will it   BUILD GOOD WILL AND BETTER FRIENDSHIP....

Will it be  BENEFICIAL TO ALL CONCERNED....
