This Week's Program

John introduced our guest speaker, Mike Harris, Sports Editor of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Mike was very entertaining and his repotoire of sports jokes was not limited to VT. He emphasized the addition of Internet and it's importance in today's news market. The Times-Dispatch updates news on the website as it happens, where in the past, news only broke in the next day's edition. Internet and News TV/Radio almost make a daily paper obsolete. The necessity of using the Internet separates the players in the newspaper business. Now one can read the TD sports online, even when they are out of town. When asked how a newspaper can survive when the readership can read online without paying for a paper. The answer - Advertising. Hits on the website pages are counted as well as papers sold when marketing their product.

Upcoming Programs

Next week our speaker host will be Pete Burke. Be sure to check the website calendar for future speaker hosts

As Always, we close the meeting with the 4-way test....Of the things we think, say, and do...

Is it the  TRUTH...

Is it  FAIR TO ALL CONCERNED...

Will it   BUILD GOOD WILL AND BETTER FRIENDSHIP....

Will it be  BENEFICIAL TO ALL CONCERNED....
