Month Day, 2006
Heard at Today's Meeting
Pres. Warren called the meeting to order at 7:30. Ron Led the Pledge of allegiance, Sam G led the prayer, Sam M and led us in song - God Bless America.
Happy $
We are reminded this Thanksgiving wee to be thankful for so much and to remember our service men & women abroad, especially in Iraq, in our holiday prayers. Many Rotarians gave thanks (and $) for events in our lives this week.

This Week's Program
A presentation was made by Connie Romaine, Director of Tri-Cities Workcamp. They run a 2-session, 1-week camp for kids over 14. About 130 campers from church groups along the Eastern US and 30 aduld supervisors are housed at Richard Bland Comminity College. They come in on Sundayand leave on Saturday. Campers are broken into teams of 7 and assigned to housing projects. A van takes them to the site at 8AM and picks them up at 3PM. They accomplish all kinds of home improvement projects during the week, completing about 24 housing projects each week.
Tuition of $250 is paid by each student which goes for project supplies and materials. Additional funds are donated and additional volunteers take lunch to each jobsite every day This workcamp not only helps area residents get work done that they couldn't otherwise afford, but the campers come away with a sense of "Making a dfifference" by giving of themselves. Watch for Chester Rotary to add some "Service Above Self" to this project. Pete Adler serves as a handyman/advisor for the two weeks of camp. GREAT SERVICE!

As Always, we close the meeting with the 4-way test....Of the things we think, say, and do...
Is it the TRUTH...
Is it FAIR TO ALL CONCERNED...
Will it BUILD GOOD WILL AND BETTER FRIENDSHIP....
Will it be BENEFICIAL TO ALL CONCERNED....
