Heard at Today's Meeting

President Brion called the meeting to order at 7:30.   Dick led us in prayer and the Pledge of allegiance. Warren led us in song.

 

Happy $:  Jack, Tony, Krista, Tara, Jay, Tom, Pete, Scott, Dick

 

Educator:  None.

 

 

Announcements: Nominations for the Warren G. Thompson award are in.  Voting will occur at the next board meeting on 12/7/09. Please check your email for information on each candidate.

 

The MMFF raised $12,585 for the club. Great work by everyone!

 

The Chester Rotary Holiday Party will be Wednesday, Dec. 9th at 6:30 at June's home. Directions are available. Please bring a $15 gift. There will be no morning meeting on 12/9.

 

The Chester Parade is Dec. 13th. We will need to meet on the 12th to prepare the float.

 

Volunteers needed for the Salvation Army bell ringing Saturday, Dec. 5th in the morning. The will be at the Ukrops, Bermuda Square from 9-12. Contact Sam for available times. Also, all stockings (stuffed) are due to Sam immediately.

 

Volunteers needed to help with the dictionary project at Greenfield Elementary on Friday, Dec. 4 at 2:00. Contact Rich for more information.

 

There will be a benefit concert on Dec.8th at 7:00 PM at Manchester Middle School to benefit the Chuck Kinsey fund and the Richmond Friends of the Homeless. Donations of children's books and/or clean, gently used blankets are being accepted.

 

 

This Week's Program: John Bernier, the chief meterologist for WRIC TV8 was our guest speaker today. Mr. Bernier discussed current weather conditions, climate trends, global warming, el nino and more. He suggested we may have above normal snow fall on the east coast this winter. We shall see.....
