Chester Rotary invites you to participate in the annual “Grillin’ On The Green”. . . with a taste of Chester! This event not only features the traditional BBQ competition as in years past, but will also showcase specialties from Chester’s finest restaurateurs. Scheduled for May 12, 2016, this is our premier fundraiser for the year and a very fun event for the Chester community. As in years past the “Grillin’ on the Green” will feature BBQ venues competing for recognition as the best BBQ in Chester. Judging will be performed by faculty from the Joint Culinary Center of Excellence at Fort Lee. Cash awards will be given to the best BBQ in each category. Again this year, additional restaurateurs will be there to support the event with appetizers, side dishes, desserts and beverages. A special gift will be presented to the “People’s Choice” for best overall BBQ, and best overall non-BBQ participating restaurant. Your participation and generosity helps Chester Rotary support worthwhile charitable activities like; Chesterfield’s Fire & EMS, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, LC Bird Robohawks, Richmond Friends of the Homeless, Beds for Kids, Inc, the Chester YMCA and scholarships for area high school scholars. You can participate by entering as BBQ competitor, restaurant, sponsor, or simply by purchasing tickets and attending the event with friends and family!
